If there was a truer example of ski-in ski-out locations, we’ve yet to see it. Additionally served by the small Cospillot lift, it is perfect for beginners or children as the gentle Pralong is literally outside the back door.

You can be first up the mountain here without queuing at the main Croisette lift station, as the Pralong link enables you to enjoy the pristine corduroy down Marmottes or Creux, or fresh tracks down to Mottaret and beyond.

The hotel also benefits from its own ski hire shop, stocked with the latest equipment and run by the ever-efficient Paul.

Christine and her friendly team really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Also welcome after a hard day’s ski are the lovely bar area, complete with roaring fire, and super pool with spectacular views out onto the mountain. Other facilities include sauna, Jacuzzi and massage and a huge south-facing terrace.

The 44 tastefully decorated rooms and suites all have private balconies with views over the valley or slopes.

If you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet, great food, the easiest access to the top of the mountain and 4 star facilities at 3 star prices, then look no further.
